Simple Facts About Compression Tester and Tearing Resistance Tester

A compression test is any test in which material experiences opposing forces that push inward upon the specimen from opposite sides or is otherwise compressed, squashed, crushed, or flattened. The Short Span Compression Tester is an advanced microprocessor-controlled instrument that determines the compression strength of fluting medium or test liner and offers unrivaled repeatability and reproducibility. Considerable cost savings are possible through accurate prediction of corrugated component performance. Some of the features of short span compression tester are their unique clamping mechanism, providing test statistics at the push of a button, providing selectable units such as kN/m, lb/inch, N, loading cell with overload protection, easy to read display, traceable calibration etc.

The main purpose of doing a compression test is to determine the behavior or response of a material while it experiences a compressive load by measuring fundamental variables, such as strain, stress, and deformation. The compressive strength of a material is tested to determine, yield strength, ultimate strength, elastic limit, and the elastic modulus among various other parameters.
Short Span Compression Tester measures the compression strength of paper and board. It incorporates a precision mechanical design to reduce frictional errors that provides unmatched accuracy and repeatability.
Tearing Resistance Tester

Tearing Resistance Tester is generally used in plastic firms, paper, and textile industries.  A tearing resistance tester is used for measuring the paper, Board, Plastic films and other similar materials. The process is done by making an initial cut and the test piece is then torn through a given distance. The work done in the test piece is measured as the loss of potential energy of a pendulum which is free to swing on its horizontal axis. A calibrated scale indicates the mean tearing force. These test results are then transferred directly to the computer so as to retrieve these test results later or to make a test profile.
